Last week was incredibly exciting, when Turboboost was quietly launched. I immediately started to raise awareness, and was once again reminded that marketing a SaaS app is much harder than building a SaaS app!
After a lot of tweet outreach, we have…0 beta users!
I even posted in Beta subreddit offering $100 for feedback from beta users and…crickets. Didn’t even get a response to my post, let alone a beta user.
While we plan to take Turboboost in a totally different direction from Baremetrics and ChartMogul, and I don’t see them competing 2-3 years from now, right now we do compete. So the next step is to optimize our SEO for “Free Baremetrics Alternative”. It’s not going to bring in much money, but it might bring in free users, and right now I’d be happy with free users!
Another way to look at this is that we are at the A or AAARRR. One of the ideas I’m considering is a youtube podcast where we help SaaS businesses to grow faster by doing a deep dive into their metrics, so we’d showcase Turboboost in the process.
